Small but mighty for August

There might not be many things on the list, but they are all awesome.

Support for device authorization flow

Kinde now supports a device authorization flow, enabling authorization for devices with limited input capabilities, such as smart TVs, gaming consoles, CLIs, or IoT devices. Users authenticate on a secondary device (like a phone or computer) while the primary device receives the access token. Get started.

Self-serve API keys for orgs and users

If you have a Kinde paid plan, you can now use API keys to allow your customers access to your API. You can manage this in the Kinde UI or through the Kinde Management API. API keys provide long-lived access for third-party systems, and can be used where more strict M2M or JWT access methods are not needed.

As a bonus, you can also allow your customers to create, rotate, and revoke keys themselves via the self-serve portal. Learn more.

New team member roles

Kinde paid plans now come with a set of default team roles that limit admin access for specific functions. For example, you can assign the roles of engineering, finance, marketing, read-only, and more. Use roles to set boundaries for what your team can do in Kinde. Assign team roles.

Self-serve SSO enterprise connections (Kinde Scale plans)

Available on request (coming soon)

If you are a B2B business supporting multiple enterprise SSO connections, your customers can set up their own SSO connections via the self-serve portal. This makes setup and configuration time much faster, with less room for mis-entering credentials. You are still in control of default configurations, but they can do the core setup much more easily.

We are releasing this generally very soon. Email support@kinde.com to access it.
